“How important were the miracles in the book’s account of Jesus’ early ministry?”
The miracles were very important in regards to Jesus’ identity. He proved himself to be the Son of God by preforming impossible miracles such as: Raising the dead, turning water into wine, healing the sick and perhaps the most famous; walking on water. There were many other miracles that Jesus preformed, but most of them are not recorded. By preforming these miracles, Jesus gained followers and friends. There were, of course, people who denied everything Jesus said and did, saying he was just a magician or a crazy man. They would openly test him, trying to make him slip up, but they never could. And the reason was because he was the real deal, and not some scum off the street who claimed to be that which he wasn’t. But sometimes, even when the truth is staring us in the face, we still can’t see it.
