I Think, Therefore I Think.

“What was Horace’s concept of personal ethical cause and effect?”

What was Horace’s concept of personal principles of right and wrong and cause and effect? Well, it seemed that Horace’s life motto was, “It’s no use crying over spilled wine.” I say wine because drinking milk was considered barbaric, as well as drinking beer. Basically his philosophy was that the bad people had what was coming for them and deserved it. If you were lazy, then you were lazy. If you worked, then you worked. If you messed up, you messed up. No point in trying to turn around something that was already in the past. If you did right, you were right. If you did wrong, you were wrong. It would be like saying, “I caused an accident, therefore I must pay for the accident.”
