What is the difference between the liberty of the ancients and the liberty of the moderns?
The difference between liberty then and liberty now is that we actually have freedom. Back then, as I’ve said before, things were very different. Our freedom has gone from being allowed to breathe, to being allowed to go outside wearing only your bathing suit while standing in a snowstorm, yodeling Taylor Swift’s Bad Blood. As crazy as it sounds, we have SO MUCH FREEDOM! We are free to post anything on the internet and probably not get hunted down. We can partake in any religion, claim ourselves as any gender, and own 50 guns. Now, I’m not saying that you should do any of the things I’ve listed above but they’re still legal. It’s crazy what will pass as normal these days. You can call yourself a cat and people will support you. You can claim your boyfriend abused you and no one will question it–even if it was the other way around. I’m surprised half of America isn’t insane by now. I can safely say that our liberty and freedom is far different than it was in ancient times.
