Is the state the source of human rights? Well let’s pay attention to the human rights part. Notice the word human. As an American, the state controls my rights, but as a human, I look to the Constitution of the United States of America. It states that we are free and some things they can’t take away, like guns and other weapons. By they, I mean the government.
